Dolmades (grape leaves stuffed with meat)

Dolmades (grape leaves stuffed with meat) is one of the first thing that comes to mind, when I think of Greek food. These grape leaves are generally vegetarian, but you can add ground beef for special occasions. 

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams pork mince
  • 1 cup rise
  • 3 ripe tomatoes
  • 2 ripe onion
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • a few mint leaves
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • salt and peper

Cooking directions:

  1. Blanch the wine leaves. Put in a pan ½ cup of oil.
  2. Add the onion, the minced meat and saute.
  3. Add to this, finely chopped herbs, the tomatoes, the rise, the salt and pepper.
  4. Place 1 tbs of the filling on each leaf, roll it up and arrange the rolls in the pan in two or three layers.
  5. Put the water and oil and cover the rolls with a plate.
  6. Place the pan on a medium heat and cook for about ¾ hour.
